In Peak Time experiences, students work on acquiring six transformational skills, including Executive Functions, Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness, Grit, Design Thinking, and Flow. These skills help enhance the ability to think creatively, see opportunities in new ways, find personal clarity and equanimity, resist impulsivity, understand one’s own emotions and the emotions of others and develop strength of mind, heart and will. Students use these skills to help find their passion and turn it into meaningful purpose.

Cognitive neuroscientists, psychologists, economists and business thought leaders have embraced these skills for their contributions to success and happiness. The World Economic Forum’s top ten skills for 2020 include Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Creativity and Cognitive Flexibility (which are all deeply tied to Executive Functions) and Emotional Intelligence. Grit additionally appears as a highly desired character trait in their New Vision for Education Report.
